DAY 9 · PRACTICE SHEET
Messy handwriting isn’t always an effort problem.
A child may struggle with handwriting because of small habits — pencil grip, where a letter starts, inconsistent sizing, or uneven spacing.
Constantly saying “write neatly” doesn’t teach those habits. The 30-Day Handwriting Fix breaks practice into small, manageable skills, one week at a time.
Grip
Better pencil control and starting strokes.
Letter Shapes
Practise where letters start and how they are formed.
Spacing & Size
Make words more consistent and easier to read.
Flow & Speed
Keep writing readable as speed increases.
The System
One small skill at a time.
A 4-week progression designed to keep practice focused instead of overwhelming.
Grip & Control
Pencil grip, posture and where every stroke begins.
Letter Shapes
Letters grouped into families by how they’re formed — not A to Z.
Spacing & Size
Finger spaces between words and consistent letter size.
Flow & Speed
Smaller ruling, timed copying, and writing without a model.
Five check-in days — Days 1, 7, 14, 21 and 30 — help parents compare progress over time.
The Daily Session
No hour-long handwriting sessions.
Each session is designed around roughly 15 minutes, start to finish.
Warm up
Finger taps, a hand shake-out, and a quick posture and grip check.
Daily worksheet
Trace the grey examples, then practise independently on the empty lines.
Keep practising
Continue the sheet, or repeat the hardest row once more.
Finish
Tick “Done,” and point out one thing that went well today.

Tracking Progress
See the change, not just the practice.
On Days 1, 7, 14, 21 and 30, your child writes the same sentence: “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.” You photograph each page.
Day to day, handwriting is too small to notice changing. Five photos, side by side, make it visible — to you and to your child.

Print or Cursive
Choose the track that fits your child.
Print Track
For children learning or practising print handwriting.
Cursive Track
For children whose school uses or expects cursive.
Exam Practice
Timed answer-writing practice for more legible written work.
Not sure? Follow the handwriting style your child’s school uses. If you’re unsure, the Parent Guide recommends starting with Print — readable print is fine for exams.

Questions
Frequently asked questions.
What age is this for?
Ages 5–12 overall. The Print Track covers ages 5–12, the Cursive Track covers ages 7–12, and Exam Page Practice is designed for ages 9–12.
What’s the difference between Print and Cursive?
Both follow the same 30-day structure, ruling and weekly focus. The Print Workbook practises print letter shapes; the Cursive Workbook practises cursive letter families and joins. Follow whichever style your child’s school teaches.
How much time does it take each day?
About 15 minutes: a short warm-up, the day’s worksheet, and a moment to finish up. Stop at 15 minutes even if the sheet isn’t complete — the routine matters more than finishing every line.
What do I need to get started?
An HB pencil with an eraser, a printer set to 100% / Actual size on A4, a table and chair where your child’s feet rest flat, and a phone camera for the check-in days.
What if we miss a day?
Just continue from where you stopped — don’t restart. The program works on total practice, not on an unbroken streak.
Does this guarantee better handwriting?
No. It gives a clear, structured routine that helps most children write more readably. Results depend on the child and on consistent practice, so we don’t promise a specific outcome.
